Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2024

Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is an organic dry white blend from Margaret River.

All the fruit comes off mature vines on the estate's certified organic gravelly loam. Sauvignon from two blocks makes up 60 per cent, with Semillon from the 1995-planted North Block 10 at 40 per cent, a higher proportion than usual and one that gives the wine more lemon-pith structure. Chief winemaker Tim Shand has kept yields tight and picking decisions early, which mattered in a 2024 season that ran warm and fast. Each batch was destemmed and pressed straight to tank. A small barrel-fermented Semillon component matured on lees, bringing flesh to an otherwise clean, quick white.

Lime, white peach and a hint of lemongrass, with a rounder middle than most and refreshing acidity to close. Nine degrees. Serve it with grilled whiting, chicken and coriander dumplings, or a simple green salad with a sharp dressing.
