Warre's Otima 20 Year Old Tawny 500mL NV

Warre's Otima 20 Year Old Tawny is a twenty year old cask aged port from the Douro, in the clear bottle that made tawny a fridge door proposition.

Warre's was founded in 1670, the oldest of the British houses in the Douro, and has been in the hands of the Symington family for generations. Otima arrived at the end of the 1990s with a clear flat bottle and a lighter presentation, but the wine inside follows the old method exactly: a blend of casks left to age slowly in seasoned oak pipes in the lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia, where the cooler river air suits long oxidative maturation. Twenty years is a considerable average age, and the blend is assembled and bottled ready for the table.

Serve chilled at around 12 degrees with dried fruit, walnuts, hard cheeses or crème brûlée; it keeps for weeks after opening.
