Description
Warre's Vinhas Velhas Vintage Port 350th Anniversary Edition is an old vine vintage port released to mark three and a half centuries of the Douro's oldest British house.
Warre's was established in 1670, which makes the anniversary edition a marker of three hundred and fifty years of continuous shipping, and the house has been in Symington family hands for generations. Vinhas velhas means old vines, and in the Douro that usually means field blends planted before anyone kept careful records of what went into the ground, dozens of varieties interplanted row by row and picked together. The fruit comes from the house's own quintas, and the wine is made in the vintage manner, bottled unfiltered after about two years in cask so that all further development happens in glass.
Decant well ahead of serving at around 16 degrees, with hard cheeses, walnuts or dark chocolate; a wine built to be cellared for decades.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
