Description
Weingut Adams Ingelheim Spätburgunder 'Heerweg' is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Heerweg site in Ingelheim, Rheinhessen.
Heerweg is one of several limestone-rich parcels farmed by Weingut Adams, the ten-hectare Ingelheim estate run by winemaker Simone Adams, who works the vineyards organically and regeneratively with intensive manual care from pruning to harvest. Fermented with a portion of whole clusters and stems in the traditional Burgundian manner, wine from this site is built for texture and structure while remaining true to Ingelheim's long red wine heritage, a region whose winegrowing history stretches back some two thousand years and which was once celebrated as Germany's red wine capital. All Adams wines are bottled bone-dry, unfiltered and unfined.
This is a more generously structured, approachable style of Spätburgunder, a versatile red suited to the table and to drinkers who enjoy a touch more grip alongside classic Pinot Noir charm.
