Weingut Bernhard Ott Ried Spiegel Feuers Grüner Veltliner comes from one of the leading single vineyards of Feuersbrunn, in the Wagram.

Ried is the Austrian term for a named single vineyard, and Spiegel is one of the classified sites at Feuersbrunn, where the Ott family has farmed for four generations. The Wagram is a thick blanket of wind blown loess laid down over many thousands of years, and Spiegel sits on some of the deepest of it, with an aspect that ripens Grüner Veltliner fully. The estate is farmed biodynamically. Fruit is hand picked, whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeasts, then left on its lees for an extended period in large neutral wood before bottling, without malolactic fermentation.

This is a wine to give time; cellar it for five to ten years and serve at around 12 degrees with roast poultry, veal or richer fish.
