Description
Weingut Veyder-Malberg Riesling Weissenkirchner Buschenberg is a single-vineyard dry Riesling from one of the Wachau's most talked-about small estates, grown on the terraced slopes above the village of Weissenkirchen.
Peter Veyder-Malberg founded his estate in the Wachau after years working with established local producers, and quickly became known for a leaner, more restrained style than the region's traditionally powerful Smaragd wines. He farms small, scattered parcels of steep, terraced vineyard across several Wachau villages, including the Buschenberg site above Weissenkirchen, working the vines by hand and favouring gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation and ageing in large old wooden casks to preserve freshness and site character over sheer ripeness and power.
A precise, mineral-driven dry white with real energy, it is an excellent match for river fish, poultry and lighter Austrian fare.
