Weingut Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch, Erben Thanisch Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Auslese is a naturally sweet Prädikatswein Riesling from the historic Bernkasteler Badstube vineyard, a steep amphitheatre of vines above the town of Bernkastel.

The Mosel is Germany's most celebrated Riesling region, its vineyards planted on some of the steepest slopes in the world, where blue-grey slate soils store daytime warmth and reflect it back onto the vines, helping Riesling ripen slowly at this cool, northerly latitude while retaining the region's hallmark bright acidity. Weingut Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch, Erben Thanisch is one of Bernkastel's oldest and most historic estates, with a winemaking history dating back to 1636 and now in the hands of the eleventh generation of the Thanisch family; alongside its famous holdings in the Bernkasteler Doctor vineyard, the estate also farms outstanding parcels in the historic Bernkasteler Badstube, a steep, south-facing amphitheatre of vines directly above the town, and is a member of the VDP, the country's association of elite wine estates.
