West Cape Howe Regional Range Pinot Noir 2025

West Cape Howe Regional Range Pinot Noir is a savoury, medium-bodied Mount Barker Pinot Noir with generous oak spice.

The cool climate of Mount Barker, in the heart of the Great Southern, suits Pinot Noir that pairs dark cherry fruit with an earthy, savoury edge, and the supplier notes call out classic Mount Barker character here. The 2025 is deep garnet, with black truffle, cedar and soft rose, then dark berries, red cherry and cinnamon. Oak makes a more serious statement than usual, bringing toasty, warm spice (thyme, white pepper, clove and nutmeg) to balance sweeter notes of cherry, cranberry and mulberry. Fine, chewy tannins give a firm grip, and a hint of black olive brine adds a salty twist.

Serve slightly cool, at around 14 to 16 degrees. Roast duck, mushroom risotto or a pork and fennel ragù are all good matches, and it will hold for a few years.
