West Cape Howe Styx Gully Chardonnay 2023

West Cape Howe Styx Gully Chardonnay is a bright, flinty Great Southern Chardonnay with citrus and a silky texture.

Cool-climate fruit, barrel fermentation and maturation in oak give this wine its shape, with the winemaking kept restrained so fine citrus and stone fruit lead the way. It sits among the premium releases from the Mount Barker-based producer. The 2023 is light gold, with delicate citrus, white nectarine, flint, salt flakes and crisp pear. The palate is bright and lively with a silky texture, grapefruit pith and key lime pie, and subtle, savoury toasty oak woven through.

Pour it with grilled scallops, a Caesar salad or roast chicken with lemon and thyme. Serve chilled and enjoy over the next few years.
