Whistler Estate Shiraz 2023

Whistler Estate Shiraz comes from the family's Heysen Estate vineyard on Seppeltsfield Road in the Barossa Valley.

Grape growing has been the Pfeiffer family's work for four generations, beginning with Albert Heinrich Pfeiffer in the Riverland; Whistler, which is what Pfeiffer means in German, was founded when his grandson Martin, former head vineyard manager at Penfolds, bought the Heysen Estate property in 1982. The first Whistler Shiraz went into bottle in 1997. The vineyards have been farmed organically and biodynamically since 2013, and fruit is hand-picked by the winery's own mailing-list customers.

Serve at 17 degrees with roast beef, lamb or aged cheddar. It develops over a decade.
