Wilhelm Walch Pinot Noir 'Prendo' 2024

Wilhelm Walch Pinot Noir 'Prendo' is a light, fresh red from Trentino-Alto Adige in Italy's alpine north.

Since 1869 the Walch family has made wine at Termeno, in the German-speaking part of Alto Adige, using its own vineyards and fruit from growers along the Adige valley. This range comes from valley sites farmed to organic and sustainable standards. Blauburgunder, as Pinot Noir is called locally, has a long history here, and cool alpine nights and free-draining gravel and limestone keep the acidity up and the fruit red. Destemmed, fermented cool with gentle maceration and matured mostly in tank with some used oak, it keeps its clarity and perfume.

Fragrant and light, with red cherry, cranberry and a soft finish. Pour it lightly chilled at 14-16°C with charcuterie, roast poultry, mushroom risotto or grilled salmon.
