Windows Estate Petit Lot Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Windows Estate Petit Lot Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a barrel-matured take on Margaret River's classic white blend.

Semillon takes the lion's share at 68 per cent, with Sauvignon at 30 per cent and a touch of Chardonnay filling out the rest. The Semillon comes from the main vineyard on the ironstone and laterite ridge, picked while the canopy is still full and the acidity high. The Sauvignon grows on soils with more clay and quartz, which gives zesty fruit and a clear mineral line, and the Chardonnay adds depth and texture. Each batch matures in French barriques for eleven months after fermentation, building complexity without costing the wine its freshness.

Lemon, fresh herbs and a nutty, lees-derived undertone, with more weight and grip than the usual version of this blend. Serve at 11-12 degrees. Pair it with roast fish, a chicken and leek pie, or asparagus and poached egg.
