Wirra Wirra Single Vineyard Flower Grenache 2025

Wirra Wirra Single Vineyard Flower Grenache is a site-driven McLaren Vale Grenache with red fruit, earthy spice and fine, sandy tannins.

Drawn from one vineyard, the Flower, this wine sits in Wirra Wirra's single-vineyard range, which focuses on the character of particular McLaren Vale sites. Grenache has been grown in the district since the nineteenth century, and the winery, founded in 1894 and revived in 1969, has made it a real focus in recent years. The 2025 opens with dark cherry, pomegranate, lavender, dried thyme and an earthy note. Red plum and wild raspberry join spices of cardamom and cumin on a succulent palate, finishing long on appetising, fine tannins.

A light chill, to about 15 degrees, suits it well. Pair it with slow-cooked lamb, spiced chickpea dishes, roast pork belly or a wood-fired pizza with salami.
