Wirra Wirra Single Vineyard Hickinbotham Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-site Cabernet from the cool, high Clarendon district of McLaren Vale.

The Hickinbotham vineyard at Clarendon is well regarded for red wines of structure and perfume, thanks to its altitude, cooler nights and hillside aspects. Wirra Wirra, whose history in the region stretches back to 1894, sources Cabernet Sauvignon from the site for this single-vineyard release. The 2025 opens with fresh blackberry and black cherry, leafy fragrance, cardamom and wild thyme. Dark berries and black cherry meet creamy mocha, dried tobacco leaf and fennel on the palate, and long, velvety tannins finish with a savoury edge.

This one benefits from a good decant; serve at around 17 to 18 degrees. Pour it alongside chargrilled steak, braised beef cheeks or rack of lamb, or lay it down for a decade.
