Wirra Wirra Single Vineyard Yandra Chardonnay 2025

Wirra Wirra Single Vineyard Yandra Chardonnay is a taut, savoury Chardonnay from the Yandra vineyard in Lenswood, Adelaide Hills.

Lenswood is one of the higher, cooler parts of the Adelaide Hills, and the Yandra vineyard sits at around 480 metres on gravelly brown clay loam over heavy red clay. Planted in 1998 and facing east, the vines catch the morning sun and are shaded through the heat of the afternoon, which helps the fruit keep its natural acidity. That shows in the 2025, which pairs almond croissant, cashew and crème fraîche with white nectarine, green apple and lime zest. A chalky texture runs through the palate, balancing generosity and tension before a savoury finish.

Serve lightly chilled, not too cold, so the texture comes through. It's lovely with roast chicken, crab linguine, pork belly or a creamy mushroom risotto, and will develop nicely over several years.
