Wirra Wirra The 12th Man Chardonnay 2025

Wirra Wirra The 12th Man Chardonnay is a finely tuned Adelaide Hills Chardonnay with a creamy, nutty edge.

The name is a cricketing nod, in keeping with the playful streak that runs through the Wirra Wirra range. The fruit comes from the Adelaide Hills, where elevation and cool nights give Chardonnay crisp acidity and a tight line, and the winemaking builds texture and savoury complexity with oak in a supporting role. The 2025 shows brie, brioche and lightly toasted hazelnut, followed by crème pâtissière and white stone fruit on a focused palate, lifted by vanilla bean, almond biscotti and a fine, chalky edge.

Chill it lightly and pour with grilled snapper, chicken schnitzel, pork chops with apple or a soft washed-rind cheese.
