Wirra Wirra The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Wirra Wirra The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon is a long-standing McLaren Vale Cabernet named after the winery's bell.

The Angelus bell became part of Wirra Wirra's story after Greg Trott revived the estate in 1969, and the Cabernet named in its honour has been a mainstay of the range for many years. McLaren Vale's warm climate and cooling sea breezes ripen Cabernet Sauvignon fully while keeping its leafy, savoury character. The 2022 is leafy and aromatic, with blackberry, black olive, dark plum and thyme, lifted by sandalwood and roasted coffee bean. Dark plum, mulberry leaf and earthy spices follow on an energetic palate with fine, powdery tannins and good fruit concentration.

Allow time in the decanter and serve at around 17 to 18 degrees. Classic partners include roast lamb, beef casserole and aged cheddar, and it will cellar comfortably for ten years or more.
