Wirra Wirra The Lost Watch Riesling 2023

Wirra Wirra The Lost Watch Riesling is a crisp, dry Riesling from the Adelaide Hills.

Wirra Wirra's red wines come largely from McLaren Vale, but for Riesling the winery heads up to the cooler Adelaide Hills, where elevation and cool nights preserve the variety's natural acidity and floral character. The wine is made in a clean, unoaked style to put the fruit first. This 2023 release shows finger lime and lemon myrtle alongside bath salts, talc and green apple, with freesia and jasmine on a palate driven by a line of fresh lime juice. It's focused and flavoursome, and at 12.5% alcohol light on its feet.

Chill well and pour with freshly shucked oysters, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, grilled whiting or a crisp green salad. It will also build toasty complexity with a few years in bottle.
