Wolfburn Let it Snow Malt Scotch Whisky 2022

Wolfburn Let it Snow is the distillery's 2022 Christmas edition single malt Scotch whisky.

Each year the Thurso distillery bottles a limited festive run, and this was the third to reach Australia. The 2022 edition carries a little more peat than earlier versions, with the smoke laid over the sweeter, gentler house character and adding depth. It is also the oldest festive bottling made to that point, a shade over seven years, which reflects a distillery running since 2013 that now has stock to choose from. Maturation was split between first-fill bourbon barrels and second-fill quarter casks.

Sweet malt and orchard fruit with a wreath of smoke and a warm, spiced finish. Drink it neat at room temperature. It belongs by a fire with fruit cake or mince pies, and holds up well against a strong cheddar.
