Yalumba Barossa Valley Vat-11 Grenache 2024

Yalumba Barossa Valley Vat-11 Grenache is a fragrant, finely built Barossa Grenache with a savoury, herbal edge.

Grenache has grown on the Barossa floor since the nineteenth century, and the family-owned winery at Angaston has spent decades championing it, from very old bush vines to modern, lighter-handed styles. This wine is sourced from Barossa Valley vineyards and made to capture the variety's perfume and juiciness. Raspberry and dark cherry fruit sit on a floral background of rose and violet, and savoury notes of sage and wild oregano appear as it opens. The palate sits between medium and full weight, with fresh acidity and long, fine tannins giving it shape.

Serve slightly cool, at around 14 to 16 degrees, to keep the fruit lively. Try it with lamb souvlaki, chargrilled chicken with herbs, or a mushroom and thyme pizza. Drink it young for its freshness, or keep it for a few years.
