Yalumba Galway Vintage Shiraz 2023

Yalumba Galway Vintage Shiraz is a generous, easy-drinking Barossa Shiraz carrying one of the winery's longest-running names.

The Galway name has appeared on labels from this Angaston winery for many decades, and today it is used for a Shiraz made to offer real Barossa character at an everyday price. Fruit comes from vineyards around the region, where warm days build ripeness and the red-brown soils give generous, plush wines. After fermentation the wine spends time in oak, which adds hints of vanilla and warm spice without taking over. Expect ripe plum and dark fruit with cinnamon, clove, black tea and a savoury, earthy edge, all carried by soft, velvety tannins.

Open it with a midweek steak, slow-cooked lamb shanks or a beef and red wine pie. Serve at around 16 to 18 degrees. It's ready to drink now and will hold for a few years.
