Yalumba The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L MAGNUM 2019

Yalumba The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon in magnum is a large-format bottling of the winery's flagship Coonawarra Cabernet.

Coonawarra's reputation rests on a narrow band of terra rossa soil over limestone and a long, cool growing season that suits Cabernet Sauvignon ideally. Grown in the district and chosen for its depth, the fruit for this wine is matured in oak and made to age. The 2019 is deep crimson with blackcurrant, mulberry, violet and exotic spice, plus a fresh, ozone-like note. It is a wine of poise and tension, with blackcurrant, bitter chocolate and mulberry flavours wrapped in fine tannins. Magnums age more slowly than standard bottles, making this format a great choice for the cellar.

When the time comes, decant it to let it breathe and serve at 17 to 18 degrees. It will stretch around a table of eight to ten, alongside roast lamb, beef rib or a hearty cassoulet.
