Yalumba The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

Yalumba The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon is the winery's benchmark Coonawarra Cabernet, a rich and structured wine made for cellaring.

Coonawarra has produced some of Australia's finest Cabernet for more than a century, thanks to its terra rossa over limestone and a cool climate shaped by the Southern Ocean. For this wine, fruit grown in the district is selected for depth and longevity and matured in oak. It carries the region's classic signatures: blackcurrant and mulberry, a leafy undertone and a salty note often described as sea spray. The 2024 adds rosemary, violet and blueberry aromas with a hint of choc mint, while the palate is full and rich, ending with dark chocolate and long tannins.

Decant for at least an hour if drinking young and serve at about 17 to 18 degrees. Classic partners include lamb rack with rosemary, a scotch fillet or braised beef cheek. It will reward many years in the cellar.
