Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz in magnum is a large-format release of the Barossa blend from a standout vintage.

Dating back to 1962, this is one of Australia's most enduring red labels, and each year's wine is dedicated to someone who has served the company well. The producer calls 2019 a star vintage: a dry year that gave small, intense crops. Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are blended and matured in oak, giving a deep, purple-red wine with florals, cool mint, pomegranate, fine blackberry and dark cherry. The palate is generous, with dark cherry fruit merging into ironstone tannins, medium to full in weight and long in the finish. Magnums develop more slowly than standard bottles.

After decanting, pour at 17 to 18 degrees with a shared roast of beef or lamb. It is a lovely bottle for a dinner party of eight or more, and will keep improving for years.
