Yalumba Vine Vale Grenache 2024

Yalumba Vine Vale Grenache is a single-district Barossa Grenache of energy and precision.

Vine Vale, a sub-district east of Tanunda on the Barossa floor, is known for deep sandy soils and some of the region's oldest Grenache vineyards. For this release, fruit from three blocks was wild fermented together, with 30% of the bunches left whole, adding lift, spice and fine grip. The wine opens with fresh strawberry and rose petal over white pepper and a flinty note, with crushed Mediterranean herbs, grenadine, ironstone and a touch of dried juniper. The palate is lively, with redcurrant and cranberry, talc-like tannins and a mineral edge.

Serve slightly cool, around 14 to 16 degrees, with lamb shoulder and anchovy, seared tuna or a pizza with salami and olives. Drink over the next five years.
