Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2023

Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier is a perfumed, velvety red where Shiraz is lifted by a small portion of Viognier.

Blending Shiraz with a little Viognier, as they do in France's northern Rhône, adds fragrance and a silky feel, and it's a style Yalumba knows well as one of the Australian pioneers of Viognier. The fruit for this Y Series wine comes from South Australian vineyards. Expect exotic aromatics, then rose petal, chocolate and cherry on a full-bodied palate, with velvety tannins and a cherry-ripe finish. The Barossa-based family company, making wine since 1849, crafts the Y Series range to be vegan-friendly.

Try it at around 16 to 18 degrees with slow-roasted pork shoulder, a lamb and rosemary pie or a spiced eggplant dish.
