Zalto Bordeaux Glass Single Pack

A single Bordeaux stem, broader at the base than most, made for wines with structure and tannin to carry.

Zalto Glas is a family glassworks in Austria's Kremstal, where every piece is mouth-blown by hand and made without lead, the bowls angled to 24, 48 and 72 degrees after the tilt of the earth. This shape is aimed at wines rich in structure and fruit concentration, and at those high in tannin. The base of the bowl is wider than the usual Bordeaux glass, giving a firm wine room to open before the walls draw in towards the rim and collect the aromatics again. That is what brings potent, concentrated and structured wines into harmony rather than letting either fruit or grip arrive on its own. It works as expected with Bordeaux, Brunello di Montalcino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz, and is just as good with Nebbiolo and Pinot, so the name is not the boundary of its use.

A sound stem for structured reds of most kinds, supplied here as a single glass. Hand-wash in warm water without detergent and dry with a lint-free cloth.
