Zalto Glas is a family glassworks in Austria's Kremstal, where every piece is mouth-blown by hand and made without lead, the bowls angled to 24, 48 and 72 degrees after the tilt of the earth. The Champagne glass exists for the occasions when the look of a flute is what is wanted, and it makes that shape worth using. The bowl is tall and narrow, giving the bead a long climb and helping the mousse hold together, while the rim keeps aromatics gathered over a small surface instead of letting them go. Because the walls are mouth-blown and thin, the glass is light in the hand and fine at the lip, which is where heavier flutes usually fall short. Fill it with restraint: the upper part of the bowl is doing the aromatic work, and a brimming glass gives that away.

Made for Champagne, Prosecco, Spumante, Cava and other sparkling wines; supplied as a two pack. Hand-wash in warm water without detergent and dry with a lint-free cloth.
