Zalto Sweetwine Glass Single Pack

A single small-bowled stem for sweet wines, drawn to keep sweetness, acidity and power in proportion.

Zalto Glas is a family glassworks in Austria's Kremstal, where every piece is mouth-blown by hand and made without lead, the bowls angled to 24, 48 and 72 degrees after the tilt of the earth. The Sweet Wine glass is scaled for the modest measures these wines are poured in, which is part of why it works. The compact bowl keeps a small serve cool, and the rim draws the aromatics into a narrow column so that lift and freshness reach the nose before the sugar registers as weight. Great sweet wines carry considerable concentration, and a wider bowl tends to spread that out and leave the finish heavy, whereas this shape holds the elements against one another. The White Wine glass will handle such wines perfectly well, but this is the shape designed around them.

Pour Sauternes, Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese, Eiswein, Port or Madeira into it; supplied as a single glass. Hand-wash in warm water without detergent and dry with a lint-free cloth.
