Zalto Glas is a family glassworks in Austria's Kremstal, where every piece is mouth-blown by hand and made without lead, the bowls angled to 24, 48 and 72 degrees after the tilt of the earth. The W1 Coupe is blown to the same discipline as the wine stems, and the weight gives it away the moment it is lifted: thin walls, a low centre of gravity and a rim fine enough to go unnoticed against the lip. The bowl is wide and shallow, which opens a small serve across a large surface, so aromatics reach the nose immediately rather than being channelled up a narrow column. That suits neat spirits and stirred drinks, and works just as plainly for water and soft drinks. In crystal clear there is nothing in the glass itself to compete with what is in it.

Use it for neat spirits, mixed drinks, water and soft drinks; supplied as a single glass. Hand-wash in warm water without detergent and dry with a lint-free cloth.
